WASHINGTON COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE
SEARCH AND RESCUE
The Washington County Sheriff’s Office (WCSO)
Search and Rescue (SAR) program is an elite team
of volunteers that plays a critical role in emergency
response efforts across the county. Open to teenagers
ages 14-17, the program provides rigorous training in
search techniques, navigation, first aid, and teamwork,
preparing cadets to assist in real-world missions.
Beyond gaining valuable life skills, SAR cadets get
hands-on experience in law enforcement, emergency
medical services, and search and rescue operations.
